How Long Does the Canyoneering Tour Take?

What to Bring for Moalboal Canyoneering
Here’s what I recommend based on my own experience:
When you arrive at the starting point, there are secure lockers available where you can store all your valuables and extra belongings. Once you’re geared up with your helmet, life jacket, and GoPro or waterproof camera, you’re good to go.

✅ Helmet + Life Jacket – These are provided before the trip and are required for safety. The life jacket usually includes a front pouch where you can secure your camera.
✅ GoPro or Waterproof Camera – Perfect for capturing action shots along the route. Some people brought iPhones with underwater cases, which also worked well. Get one here!
✅ Water shoes with good grip – Highly recommended. Avoid using the basic ones offered as part of package. I was getting blisters by the end of the trip and would recommend bringing your own. Find them here!
❌ Snacks or Food – Not needed. There are two rest stops during the canyoneering route where snacks and drinks are available for purchase, and you’re able to pay when back at your locker.
❌ Extra Bags, Towels, or Dry Pouches – You won’t need them on the trail. Keep your hands free, everything else can go in the locker.
🎒 Final Tip: Pack light. Only bring what you can wear or securely strap on. You’ll be climbing, swimming, and jumping, so hands-free is the way to go.
Safety Tips for First Timers
- All cliff jumps are optional — don’t feel pressured
- Always listen to your guide and follow their cues
- Double check that your helmet and vest are properly secured
- Wear proper footwear to avoid slipping on wet rocks
I found the guides to be professional and encouraging, and they’ll tailor the pace and challenge level to the group.
